We believe that blockchain will be a mainstream technology

Are we crazy? You decide.

Are we crazy? You decide.

There is an ecosystem of blockchain applications growing that provide an incredible value proposition that has not yet been realised by the mainstream. Blockchain applications include decentralised finance, which allows efficient open source financial services that can be built on top of each other like legos. As these benefits are realised by businesses, we will see innovation on a scale not experienced since the birth of the internet. But there is a problem - all of these systems assume that wealth is held and managed in blockchain tokens or cryptocurrency. Most people and businesses don't currently own or use cryptocurrency. The solution is Transak - a bridge between centralised and decentralised finance. A flexible payment gateway that allows a user, business, or application to change fiat currency from a centralised financial service (usually a bank) into a blockchain token in a decentralised application. The base of this service looks like a currency exchange API, which it basically is. The exciting part is how that base is interfaced into different products such as consumer and business finance, international payments, e-commerce, gaming, and so much more. Transak will be the financial infrastructure on top of which this new generation of applications will be built for a mainstream audience.

About us

Transak is co-founded by Sami, from London, a physicist/software engineer by background who has worked in high-frequency trading, prediction markets and banking payments, and Yeshu, from India, a die-hard software engineer who has been coding since his early teens and has started companies in personal finance and crypto exchange aggregation. Avie, from India, is handling product and partnerships at Transak and originally studied business and hotel management, before pivoting into the crypto industry and becoming a self-taught coder. Ahmed, from Egypt, now living in Tukey, is a true engineer and enjoys writing well tested code. When Ahmed is not writing code he likes to build physical engineering projects and DIY. Peter, from England leads our compliance and has held head of compliance positions at multinational payment companies. Our interests include going out for good meals, running, tennis, golf, health and reading lots of books (we now do a weekly book club as a team). We're obsessed with the future of technology and love to dream and plan about how the world will change and what we can do to help. We are inclusive and don't discriminate between background, ethnicity, gender sexual orientation, disability or anything like that. We welcome our next team member as they are, weird and brilliant parts and all.
